Service Design
-
Point to point dedicated services between two corporate offices.
Traffic carried to include interactive data, batch data and multimedia
files in one IP stream. Access to the Internet is also available through
the Eutelsat Atlantic Gate, and other satellite carriers.
-
Point to multipoint high bandwidth Internet access through Eutelsat,
Intelsat, Loral, GE and PanamSat. These services operate in a "push"
mode, utilizing a high bandwidth path to transmit Internet data to
any site falling within the satellite footprints. Alternative return
paths include satellite fixed bandwidth and DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting)
IP multicasting.
-
Teleport to Teleport connections are afforded through arrangements
with other Teleports throughout the satellite coverage area. Backhaul
connections from the Teleports to customer premises will reduce the
need to build on-site antennas, while taking advantage of higher speed
data services. The Hamilton Hydro has provided unlimited fiber connectivity
to the Hamilton Teleport.
-
VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal), using the large satellite antenna
at the Teleport, remote locations can be installed with less expensive
satellite dishes and take advantage of a shared space segment (bandwidth).
Although bandwidth is shared, individual user data integrity is maintained
through stringent routing controls.
Competitive Comparison
The competition for the Hamilton Teleport services comes from Canada's
incumbent international carrier, Teleglobe (now Bell). Juch-Tech Inc.
is a new satellite delivery alternative. As a signatory of Intelsat for
international satellite based services, while concurrently expanding the
use of submarine fiber optic cables, Teleglobe has previously blocked
the use of alternate international satellite service providers, and Telesat
had the national monopoly until March 1, 2000. Juch-Tech Inc. is committed
in providing alternate satellite services that in the past were not possible.
Juch-Tech Inc. is poised to provide international and domestic satellite
services to the competitive carriers, and broadcast services. The deregulation
of international and national service provision allows other satellite
services to compete in the Canadian market. In addition, the opportunity
to use services from any satellite gives our clients cost competitive
solutions.
